We’re quickly approaching engagement season, which means you or someone you love may not only be sporting some shiny new bling soon, but you will also be starting the journey of wedding planning! I checked in with some of my favorite Charleston vendors about their best advice when it comes to preparing for your wedding:
Hire professionals! Use vetted vendors by either consulting/hiring an event planner, or reaching out to your venue to get their list of preferred vendors. ~ Reagan Barnes, Events By Reagan
Hire a great wedding planner! They will help keep stress at bay and will create the wedding “you” want! And of course, hire a great photographer! ~ Julie Livingston, Julie Livingston Photography
When choosing a makeup look, make sure you communicate with the artist about features you want to accentuate and things you don’t. You should be able to tell the makeup artist what you like and don’t like about your makeup. It’s about you not the artist. ~ Jonny, Jonny Cosmetics and Colur Studios
Avoid washing your hair the day of the wedding; “Second day” hair works best. COMPLETELY DRY, NON-FLAT IRONED hair allows us to create a perfect hairstyle. ~ Ashley Riddle, UpDos for I Dos
Skincare is so important! Drink tons of water and develop a simple skin care routine. Prepping months ahead will ensure that your skin is in the absolute best condition for your wedding day. Plus during the honeymoon you can look gorgeous without any makeup on! ~ Jasmine Jones, Alter-Image Bridal Hair and Makeup
Have a CLEAR expectation of your wellness and weight goals, have a plan, and don’t wait to get started! Waiting, especially when you do have a specific goal in mind, will create more stress for you! ~ Yours truly (Ginny Leavitt, Ginny Leavitt Health Consulting)
