Now, let's get down to your goals. Most women want to look and feel amazing on their wedding day. Most women also deal with a lot of stress leading up to their wedding day, which can typically translate to not looking OR feeling their best on wedding day. This creates a big hurdle for many brides.
The good news is, that does not have to be you!
Weight loss is one of those super unique and incredibly personal journeys, so setting generalized expectations regarding timelines, numbers, etc., can be challenging.
But here's what I can tell you: it's never too soon to start. Whether your goal is 5 pounds or 100, change starts with intention, and the sooner you can commit to your intention the more likely you are to have lasting success.
The next step is to get clear on a timeline. On average, it's a safe estimate to predict a 1-2 pound weight loss per week when implementing traditional diet and exercise. I'm not the biggest fan of diets, because I highly encourage lifestyle changes that are sustainable - so I actually encourage another solution that also may help with more weight loss (specifically, fat loss) and overall better long-term success compared to a traditional heart-healthy diet.
After you've committed, set your goals and your timeline, it is also important to figure out how you'll get there. While diet and exercise are the traditional methods (remember my philosophy on dieting), how are you going to manage when stress gets high and time gets limited? Having plans, and back up plans, are crucial - as is having someone on your side who will keep you accountable. Perhaps finding a bridesmaid, or your mom, or someone else who wants to look and feel great on your special day so that you are not alone!
