2 Recipes to Change the Way You Shake

October 16, 2017

You may have said it, or you may certainly have thought it: "There is no way I could drink shakes and be satisfied." That's my guess, because I used to think that, too.

And you know what? You may be right - because not all meal replacements and protein shakes are created equal. Isagenix protein meal replacements are definitely unique. Unique because the macronutrient profile gives you a healthy dose of low-glycemic carbohydrates and heart-healthy fats, in addition to the 24 grams of undenatured whey protein (considered the gold standard for weight loss and muscle maintenance), or pea and brown rice protein for Dairy-Free needs (no soy over here!). Unique because in addition to 23 vitamins and minerals, they also contain probiotics for gut health. Unique because of the high quality of the ingredients. Unique because there's nothing artificial - it is literally real food, ground down into a powder that you only have to mix with water. Unique because it tastes amaaazing. Also unique because the meal replacements are just a part of many different systems designed to help you achieve various goals.

Anyway, if you've not given Isa shakes a try, I am going to be blunt and say, you can't really say you could never do it (cause you gotta try it to really say that). The plans suggest anywhere from 1-2 meals replaced per day, but also includes fork and knife snacks and meals. There's a lot of opportunity to chew and stay satisfied! Plus, there are so many ways to enjoy these shakes that don't involve a straw.

Protein Pancakes

Ingredients:

2 scoops Isalean Shake (any flavor, but my favorite is Pumpkin Spice or Vanilla)

1/2 cup oats

3 egg whites

1/3 cup plain or vanilla Greek yogurt

1/4 cup water

Blend all ingredients in a blender. Pour in 1/3 cup increments on a heated and greased griddle. Top with cinnamon, Isalean icing, or syrup.

Isalean icing: mix milk or almond milk with vanilla isalean until you get a consistency you like. Add cinnamon, vanilla, and nutmeg for extra flavor!

Protein Overnight Oats

Ingredients:

1/2 cup oats

1/8 cup chia seeds

1 scoop Isalean (favorite flavors are Pumpkin Spice or Vanilla, but any will do!)

2/3 - 1 cup of cold water.

Pour all ingredients, including 2/3 cup of water, into a mason jar and shake or stir. Store in refrigerator overnight. As the mixture starts to thicken, add more water until you reach the consistency you desire.

These recipes are just a small sample of ways to enjoy the nutritious quality of the Isagenix meal replacement powder. You can also try muffins, cookies, smoothie bowls, healthy "puppy chow", pudding, ice pops, etc.!

If you find yourself saying "I just couldn't drink shakes all day," I challenge you to explore what you're really saying: I'm not ready to try making a change in my health. That may be a bit of tough love, but as a coach it'd be unfair of me not to challenge you a little in your own journey towards health.
